Stinging nettles (Urtica dioica) have been traditionally used to support women's reproductive health.

Stinging nettles contain compounds that may help balance hormones, particularly estrogen. The plant is rich in lignans, which are phytoestrogens - plant compounds that can mimic estrogen in the body. These lignans can bind to estrogen receptors, potentially helping to modulate estrogen activity.

For women and menstruators experiencing symptoms of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) or those in perimenopause, when hormone fluctuations are common. Here are some benefits (there are sooo many incredible benefits!)

  • Iron Content: Stinging nettles are an high in iron, which is crucial for women's reproductive health, especially during menstruation.

  • Preventing iron-deficiency anemia: Menstruating women are at higher risk of iron deficiency due to blood loss during periods. Nettles can help replenish iron stores after their periods.

  • Supporting healthy blood formation: Iron is essential for hemoglobin production, which carries oxygen throughout the body.

  • Iron enhances energy levels, which can reduce fatigue, a common complaint during menstruation.
